Spring means Beekeeping Classes
Although it still feels like winter to us, the bees are already starting to think about spring and increasing. For existing beekeepers this is a great time to get your bait hives or swarm traps ready. Our bait hives are based on the work of Dr. Tom Seeley and work for both medium and deep frames. Get some Swarm Commander to go with it and you will be ready and waiting for the first swarms to fly!
At the same time, many people are thinking about becoming new beekeepers. The best way to start beekeeping is to join a local club and attend a new beekeeping class. There are several clubs in the greater Richmond area that are providing Beginner Beekeeping Classes. Check out "Our Schedule" to see all the local beekeeping classes and where we will be for the next month or two. It will be a busy time for the bees and a busy time for Honey and the Hive!
